Hailing From the bourbon swigging, horse bettin town of Louisville, Kentucky, Furlong, named for a 1/8th of a mile distance in horse racing, is a nasty beautiful bloody train wreck of genres. You will hear elements of Rock, Jazz, Prog, Punk, Pop Indie, Funk, Roots, Blues, and Reggae in the middle of this loud and fiery wreck of sound that has no musical boundaries or set style. Yet, the music is set in a pop sensibility. Comparisons have been made to Captain Beefheart, Hot Tuna, Pavement, Frank Zappa, and The Velvet Underground. Members Include: Dave Rucinski-Guitar/Vocals, Andy Matter and Dane Thorne-Drums, Jim Hall-Bass. They have been featured on The Indestructible Gubbey Records Sampler Cd Vol.1 and 2 and have seen airplay on the local airways. They have finished a 7-inch that will be released later this year (08') on Gubbey Records. Please stop by the website for more MP3's and show info.
